Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)
Association of Fundraising Professionals is the leading international organization for nonprofit management. Child & Family Center Foundation actively participates in membership of the organization through two chapters of Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley. AFP is an excellent resource for all matters of board and staff governance for the Foundation.
Annenberg Foundation’s Alchemy
C&FC Foundation board is an alumnus (attended by Laina McFerren and Lois Bauccio in 2011) of Annenberg Foundation’s Alchemy program. Alchemy refers to the practice of turning something ordinary into something extraordinary. In the spirit of that process and with the board chair and executive director relationship at its core, Alchemy shifts the way nonprofit executives and board members serve their organizations. It builds on their commitment, aligning them in common purpose to “park an unstoppable force for change.” This ensures financial solvency, programmatic effectiveness, and organizational sustainability. As alumni participants in the program, the Foundation continues to move from strength to strength.
SCV Nonprofit Leadership Network
Founded in 2010 by a team of three nonprofit professionals, Lois Bauccio from Child & Family Center Foundation, Murray Wood from College of the Canyons, and Chris Clark (who then was at the SCV YMCA), the SCV Nonprofit Leadership Network boasts a steering committee of twelve of the most respected nonprofit organizations in Santa Clarita. The group hosts monthly peer professional meetings with all local nonprofit agencies to mentor and advise as well as to collaborate on issues and needs related to the social sector.
Shelter Partnership is a leader in the fight against homelessness in Los Angeles County. The agency accomplishes its mission through the many activities, and for many years Child & Family Center has participated in their S. Mark Taper Foundation Shelter Resource Bank through donations of merchandise to our clients who are most in need of basic goods. Regular supplies of items such as diapers, toothpaste, shampoo and more are donated two to three times each year and are distributed by our clinicians to their most needy clients.
