Special Giving

Throughout the year there are numerous ways in which the community can support Child & Family Center and Foundation. Restaurant nights, sponsored events, cause related marketing, all are extremely helpful. You will be informed of these events through the social media and other information outlets.

Adopt-A-Family
At holiday times – Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah, Easter and Passover are the most common – many generous clubs, service organizations, businesses, families and individuals contact Child & Family Center Foundation to “adopt” a family to share gifts of toys, toiletries, food and more. This practice is a direct and heart-warming charity that not only helps the adopted family but which has a reciprocal value for the donors themselves, helping them to experience the true joy of giving

Gifts-In-Kind

Families and friends love to share their bounty with the children and families here at C&FC. Gifts of dolls, teddy bears, toys, games, and all manner of childhood pleasures are lovingly donated throughout the year, and especially at holiday times. These wonderful treasures are a blessing for the neediest children at the Center who might otherwise not receive any gifts at all.

Teen Holiday Gift Card Project

During the holidays the spirit of giving abounds and people rally around children’s charities to give toys for the little ones. Here at Child & Family Center many of the children we serve are teens. Other than the odd teddy bear, holiday wishes for teens definitely go in a different direction…music, make-up, sports equipment, clothes, games and so forth. Our Women’s Auxiliary has discovered that our teens are thrilled with choices, and gift cards do the trick.

Every Christmas and Hanukkah season the ladies sponsor a gift drive – the Teen Holiday Gift Card Project – for $25 gift cards to Target, Walmart, Kohl’s…any store that has a wide variety of choices for either boys or girls. In 2011, more than 300 teens received this wonderful gift. In recent years, a number of local groups have participated in the program, suggesting that a gift card be the “ticket” to the group’s holiday social gathering. Zonta Club of Santa Clarita and Pagez Book Club have been major supporters.
