The 37th Annual Taste of the Town food and wine fest returns as a fundraiser for the Child & Family Center in Santa Clarita.
On Sunday, the Child & Family Center hosted its 37th annual food and wine event at the SoCal Innovation Park off Rye Canyon Loop in Valencia. The event features Santa Clarita restaurants, caterers, beer, and wine vendors, providing unlimited gourmet tastings for over 1,000 attendees over the age of 21.
All proceeds go toward The Child & Family Center to continue providing mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, and domestic violence services to over 1,200 children, teens, and families in the community.
Nikki Buckstead, the CEO and President of the Child & Family Center, provided some background on their mission and what services the organization offers.
“The Child & Family Center is celebrating 50 years of serving the Santa Clarita Valley. We primarily serve children, teens, foster youth, and families that are coming to us for mental health challenges and substance use treatment. And we also have Santa Clarita Valley’s only domestic violence shelter,” Buckstead explained.
Entertainment at the event included crowd favorite band Mark LeVang and Friends, as well as KTLA’s News Anchor Chris Schauble returning for his fourth year as master of ceremonies.
