Hundreds participated in the Child & Family Center’s annual Purple Walk on Saturday, bringing the Santa Clarita community together to raise awareness of domestic violence and support survivors.
The annual 5K event took place at the Child & Family Center’s main facility to highlight National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The walk raises funds for the center’s Domestic Violence Program, which provides safety, shelter and support for survivors while working to break the cycle of abuse and promote healthy relationships.
Proceeds also support the center’s 30-day emergency shelter, the only one of its kind in Santa Clarita, along with a 24-hour hotline and free counseling and legal advocacy for survivors.
