Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379 recently used its Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant to support the Santa Clarita Valley Child & Family Center through two major community service projects benefiting local children and families.
As part of the grant, lodge members provided a free BBQ dinner for the center’s Family Fun Night, offering families served by the organization an evening of activities, connection and a freshly prepared meal.
A team of Elk volunteers cooked and served dinner to more than 200 attendees, creating a warm and welcoming experience for all who participated.
The Beacon Grant also funded the lodge’s backpack program for the Child & Family Center.
With grant support, the lodge purchased 300 children’s backpacks, which were filled with essential school supplies by Elk volunteers.
The completed backpacks were delivered to the center for distribution to children identified as at‑risk due to behavioral, family, or economic challenges.
These efforts reflect the Elks’ ongoing commitment to strengthening the Santa Clarita Valley community and supporting organizations that serve local youth and families.
